DI Team Players heading to globals -- again!

Posted on: April 13, 2017

The Team Players, Little Miami’s award-winning Destination Imagination team, will once again head to global competition this year, completing an amazing career for the team’s two seniors.

The Team Players won first place in the senior level division of the improv challenge at the Destination Imagination state tournament held in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and will be moving on to represent the Little Miami at the 2017 Global Finals at University of Tennessee in Knoxville in May.

Senior team members Isabel Davidson and Gianna Fontanella, who have been Team Players for 12 years, also won $150 DI Region XIV scholarships. Both had to complete an essay and provide references, and had to be entering a higher learning institution in the fall of 2017 to qualify.

Other members of the Team Players are Tejas Dinesh (junior), Toby Davidson (sophomore), and Jacob Boldman (junior).

The Team Players were one of several Little Miami DI teams who won first place in their challenges at the state tournament on April 8.

The Mustachio Pistachios won their challenge called “Vanished!” a fine arts challenge where teams had to research the meanings, roles and uses of colors and presenting a story about how the disappearance of a color changes the world. The team is managed by Laura Loftin.

The LMHS "freshman team" won “Show and Tech,” a technical challenge where teams had to present a show with an opening and headlining act, design and build a stage on which acts could take place and that would move a team member from one place to another, enhancing each act with a technical effect. This team is made up of freshmen Dhruv Dinesh , Meredith McCauley, Spencer Loftin, and eight grader Aiden Armentano. The team is managed by Rashmi Dinesh.
