Little Miami has accepted invitation to the Eastern Cincinnati Conference after the district was notified on Friday that they had been formally invited to join.

At its September meeting, the Little Miami Board of Education voted 4-1 to seek entry into the ECC and to accept an invitation if it were extended. Because of that action, Little Miami will begin to compete in the new conference for the 2020-21 season, pending separation negotiations with the SWOC.

“We’re grateful these tremendous Districts have given us this opportunity. This move will positively impact our student-athlete experience, travel time and expenses, our gate revenue, the exposure of our student-athletes, and the spirit surrounding rivalries with bordering communities like Kings, Loveland and now Lebanon.” said LM Athletic Director Keith Pantling.

Little Miami has been part of the Southwest Ohio Conference since 2012. Prior to the SWOC’s formation, the Panthers were part of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference, along with current ECC teams Kings, Anderson, Loveland, Milford, Walnut Hills, and Turpin. West Clermont is also part of the ECC.

In his acceptance letter to the ECC, LM Superintendent Greg Power said he was looking forward to joining the league.

"We are excited to be making new athletic history while renewing old rivalries as a part of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference," he said.

On Friday, the ECC also extended invitations to Winton Woods and Lebanon, and both have accepted.
