State senator recognizes LMIS 6th grader

A Little Miami Intermediate School student was recently recognized by a state senator for her outstanding performance in the Special Olympics.

Sixth grader Taylor Wittenauer was congratulated by State Sen. Shannon Jones recently for winning first place in the freestyle in the Special Olympics State Aquatics Meet, Dec. 5-6, 2015.

Sen. Jones presented Wittenauer with a proclamation in the LMIS media center in front of her family members, teachers and classmates.

“Without question, you have combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals, good sportsmanship to establish yourself as a truly exceptional athlete,” Jones said.

Also in attendance were Megan Manuel, Superintendent of the Warren County Board of DD; Angie Tapogna, Public Relations Manager for WCBDD; Rebecca Bryant, Service Coordinator for WCBDD.

Wittenauer put in her award-winning performance at the McCorkle Aquatics Center on the campus of Ohio State University.
