LMIS marks Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24-28

Posted on: October 22, 2016

During the week of Oct. 24-28, Little Miami Intermediate School will observe Red Ribbon Week to remind students about the dangers of illegal drugs.

The Red Ribbon Celebration provides a time to emphasize the positive aspects of drug-free lives and communities. The celebration is also a time for renewal and re-dedication to the best that is in us all.

Along with fun contests and assemblies, LMIS will have a Red Ribbon Spirit Week, where students can wear different clothing to celebrate.

  • Monday, Oct. 24: "Schools Say No to Drugs," wear a Little Miami or college T-shirt or sweatshirt
  • Tuesday, Oct. 25: "Don't be Tied to Drugs," wear your favorite necktie or bow tie
  • Wednesday, Oct. 26: "Dare to be Different," wear your favorite mismatched clothing
  • Thursday, Oct. 27: "Sock it to Drugs," wear crazy socks
  • Friday, Oct. 28: "Red Day," wear red in honor of Red Ribbon Week

Students will help celebrate Red Ribbon Week by making good choices and guessing how many pieces of red candy are in a jar. Winner takes home the candy.

The cafeteria will serve a variety of red food throughout the week to help celebrate.
