Fine Arts Festival coming Apr. 23

Posted on: April 8, 2016

The gymnasium at Little Miami High School has played host to dances, basketball games and pep rallies over the years. But on Saturday, April 23, the gym will be transformed into a display space for more than 1,000 pieces of art.

The Little Miami Fine Arts Festival this year will feature artwork from every student in grades K-8 and selected high school pieces, filling the gymnasium with displays of creativity from all ages.

This visual art collection will be combined with a day of student musical performances including bands and choirs to provide a sampling of fine arts education from around Little Miami.

A schedule of the day’s events:

  • 8:30-9:15 a.m. - LMIS band
  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. - LMJH band
  • 10:30-11:15 a.m. - LMHS bands
  • 11:30-12:30 p.m. - LMHS choirs (octagon)
  • 12:45-1:15 – First & second grade music
  • 1:30-2 p.m. - LMJH choirs
  • 2:15-2:45 - Third & fourth grade music

A number of activities will be ongoing throughout the day, including a caricature artist, painting and drawing demonstrations and sales of refreshments.

The Little Miami Band Boosters will also host their annual pancake breakfast in the high school that morning. Breakfast will be available from 8-11 a.m.

The Fine Arts Festival is free and open to the public.
