Band instrument info for LMIS

Posted on: August 7, 2016

Here's important information for LMIS sixth graders who will be participating in band this year.

On Monday, Aug. 8, Buddy Rogers will be at the Intermediate School from 5 to 8 p.m. to answer any questions you might have about the leasing process. They will also be providing instruments for the students to try out. Mr. Morelock and Mr. Robinson will be available to assist as well as answer any questions students and families might have. They will located in the band room on stage.

At the end of the previous school year, students turned in a form indicating that they would like to participate in band this year. All students provided three instruments that they would be interested in playing. Students will have the opportunity to hold and play these three instruments to get a feel of what they will be learning over the next year. After trying the instruments, students will select the instrument they will be playing this school year.

Buddy Rogers will be providing Information about how to lease the instrument for the school year. Most instruments are about $22-$30 dollars per month for the rental. Families may sign up for a lease at the open house on Monday, or by going online at

The initial payment will be for the instrument, a music stand, and the book that we will be using the first year in band. Students' instruments will be delivered to Little Miami Intermediate in time for the group to start playing. This way, the first time your student opens the case I will be able to show them how to put their instrument together and take the first steps toward making their first sounds!
