LMHS choirs in demand

Posted on: February 2, 2016

The Little Miami representatives to the Xavier Honor Choir are (from left) Kenny Storer, Noah Frederick, Kyla Cummins, Tyler Sims, Anna Zeller, Tyler Eckert and Nevin Malott.

The vocal music program at Little Miami High School has an international reputation for excellence, thanks to the hard work of the vocalists and the leadership of Sarah Baker. The choirs have received several honors in recent weeks:

Seven LM select choir students participated in the Xavier Honor Choir Festival (Anna Zeller, Kyla Cummins, Nevin Malott, Tyler Eckert, Tyler Sims, Noah Frederick, Kenny Storer) and one LMSWC student (Rachel Toney) sang with the Ohio University Honor Choir recently.

The LM Select Women's Chorale was chosen from over 100 applicants to perform at the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference last Friday. The ladies gave a concert to all conference attendees at 9:30 am in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom in downtown Cincinnati.

The men from the LM Select Mixed Choir participated in two interest sessions presented at the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference. The session topics on developing young men's voices were directed by James Gallagher, Professor Emeritus from Ohio State University. The LM students sang in a men's choir which included students from Mason, Walnut Hills, Sycamore, Oak Hills, and the Xavier University Men's Chorus.
