Congratulations and farewell to Class of 2016

On Sunday, May 22, the Little Miami High School Class of 2016 graduated. This year’s class of 278 received more than $6 million in scholarship offers and plans to begin the next chapter in their lives at college, in the military or in the workforce.

Nicole Preisler was named valedictorian and Olivia Gevedon was named salutatorian. Preisler will be continuing her education at the University of Texas at Dallas, and Gevedon will be attending the University of Alabama.

Forty-three students graduated with an honors diploma, 57 were members of the National Honor Society, 15 were members of the National Technical Honor Society, one was a member of the French National Honor Society and 101 students earned the Lamp of Knowledge, awarded to students who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average for the whole of the high school careers.

Senior Class President Chloe Ciupak gave welcoming remarks to the gathering of family and friends at the Nutter Center on the campus of Wright State University. Gevedon gave a speech entitled “The Land of Hope and Glory” and Calvin Kim spoke on “The Greatest and the Humblest.”
