What better way to learn about someone than to walk a mile in their shoes. Or maybe just their hat!

History came to life for second graders at Harlan-Butlerville Primary School during their Famous Americans project recently. Students selected a famous U.S. citizen to research and learned about his or her history, accomplishments, family life and more.

Then, students memorized a speech about their subject, decorated a poster board "costume" and held a special event where guests and schoolmates could hear their presentations. Everyone from George Washington to Henry Ford to Juliette Gordon Low were there!
