Bringing geography to life

Posted on: May 16, 2016

Some of Little Miami's youngest students got a vivid and up-close experience with our planet recently when the Earth Dome visited Harlan-Butlerville Primary School.

The Earth Dome is an inflatable balloon that is 19 feet high by 22 feet in diameter and is made of 24 panels silkscreened with satellite photographs of the surface of the Earth, owned by Mobile Ed Productions. Students attended an assembly hosted by Mobile Ed and learned about continents, time zones, latitude and longitude, climate and more.

Not only were they able to view the planet from the outside, they were also able to crawl the inside the dome for a different perspective.
