Don't bug me, I'm reading!

Posted on: March 31, 2016

While most people try to avoid six-legged creepy crawlies, students at Hamilton-Maineville Primary have been celebrating all things bugs during their Right to Read Week.

"Don't Bug Me...I'm Reading!" was the theme for a week-long event focused on fun and literacy. All week, students read bug-related books and wrote book reports about what they had read. Students also made bug-themed crafts like bug bookmarks, buggy headbands and competed for reading prizes.

The school also hosted Annette Bierley from the Salem Twp. Public Library, who taught students about insects, and guest readers from the Maineville Fire Department.
