Celebrating our admin assistants!

Posted on: April 26, 2017

Wednesday, April 26 is Administrative Professionals Day, which highlights the important role of administrative professionals in all areas of our schools. In many ways, Little Miami’s administrative professionals are the face of the district, greeting parents and students, answering the phone, keeping track of student attendance and important school records, providing comfort to a little one having a bad day and dozens of other duties.

"There is no way to adequately thank our administrative professionals for all of the important work they do on behalf of Little Miami students, parents, teachers and administrators," Superintendent Greg Power said. "We are grateful for them every day, not just on April 26."

Who are the Hamilton-Maineville administrative professionals? See below:

Robin Griggs, secretary

How long have you been with Little Miami? – In September I will start my 11th year.

What’s the best thing about being an LM admin? – Our families and our staff. I have had the pleasure to work with all grade levels (except 7th grade). I love getting to know the students and their families. I can’t say enough about our staff.  We are a family not just a group of people that work together. I feel extremely blessed to work in this community.

What’s one of the challenges of being an LM admin? – Biggest challenge is probably the first week of school with the younger grade levels and making sure that we get them all on the correct buses for dismissal. The folks in our transportation department are fantastic and it is a group effort with them to get the bus information to our office and we get it to our teachers. During the first week of school I have been known to stay in the office until I’m sure all of our students have been dropped off.

Something that people may not know about you: I grew up as a farm girl on a 280-acre hog farm. Was active in 4-H showing hogs and horses. My favorite vacation destinations are our National Parks.

How long have you been with Little Miami? Less than a year.

What’s the best thing about being an LM admin?  Greeting the kids in the morning as they come in for the school day.

What’s one of the challenges of being an LM admin? Not enough time in the day!

Something that people may not know about you: My husband and I adopted my two children (Willow and Vincent) this past August through foster care.
