LMHS sponsoring drug abuse roundtable

Little Miami High School will host a family informational night on drug abuse and the heroin epidemic on Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The high school will screen the film "Chasing the Dragon," a short documentary by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of real people addicted to prescription drugs and heroin. In their own words, ordinary people from various walks of life describe the horrors of addiction and how their addiction changed their lives. Parent should be advised that the film does contain some graphic scenes and uses graphic language. This showing will take place in the auditorium.

Following the film, a panel of experts will lead a discussion. On the panel will be: 

  • Officer Brandenburg, LMHS Student Resource Officer
  • Carrie Brown, Diversion Coordinator
  • Shelley Brown, Warren County Educational Service Center Drug and Alcohol Prevention
  • Casey Hippenhammer, Prevention Specialist, Solutions
  • Sgt. Lacy, Assistant Field Commander for the Warren County Drug Task Force
  • Chad Larson, Probation Officer
  • Jeff Rhein, Mental Health Recovery Services of Warren and Clinton Counties
  • Kyle Short, Recovering Heroin Addict, works in a treatment facility

The public is invited to attend.
