The Little Miami Board of Education recently honored a long-term district employee by highlighting her love of student learning.

The Board recently named the media center at Little Miami Primary School (formerly LM Intermediate) the Pamela M. Coates Media Center, in honor of Human Resources Director Pam Coates, who just completed her 50th year of service at Little Miami.

Coates began her service in 1971 as a young educator. She went on to teach at Harlan-Butlerville School for 29 years before becoming principal there in 2000. In 2012, Coates moved to central office as the district's director of human resources.

Board members, family members, fellow teachers and friends held a surprise party for Coates on May 18 to make the announcement.
