H1N1 VACCINE

To reduce the spread of H1N1 flu, a vaccine will soon be available. The U.S. Centers for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) have identified students from Preschool through Grade 12 as one of the priority groups to receive this vaccine. Having your child immunized against the H1N1 virus is your choice.

In order to offer the inoculation to school age children, Warren County Combined Health District (WCCHD) will be on-site to administer the vaccine to our students. We will contact you with the date and time of vaccination. We may be given as little as 24-hour notice before inoculation day, therefore we must be prepared in advance.

We ask that you take the following steps (please click the links for more information):

  • Complete, Sign, and Return the Student Consent Form by October 16.
  • Review the 2009 H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Inactivated (shot) information sheet.
  • Review Warren County Combined Health Districts Health Notice of Privacy Practices.
  • Be sure that your child wears a short-sleeved shirt on vaccination day if they are receiving the vaccine.
  • Continue to follow public health advice regarding prevention measures such as hand washing and coughing/sneezing etiquette, monitoring your family members for H1N1 symptoms, staying home from work or school if symptoms are present-especially fever.
