Language Arts/Writing:  As a class, we are still reading "Sign of the Beaver" and work on comprehension, vocabulary, and writing with this story. 

Please allow your child to go on Raz-Kids.  This will help your child in reading and improve their comprehension skills.

When your child is finished reading for their 20 minutes each night have them tell you the main idea of the story. You can also have them summarize the important events that happened in the story.  To build their vocabulary, have them look up unknown words in the dictionary.  This will help them be successful in reading.

When your child is reading at home for their reading log, please make sure that your child is reading a book that fits into these different genres: Adventure, Mystery, Biography, Nonfiction, Fantasy, Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, and Science Fiction. This will help them be successful in reading.
