The rules of our class were made up as a class and each child signed the list of rules to show that they understood them and that they are important rules to follow. When asked to change a card, following a verbal warning, each student will fill out a sheet explaining why the card was changed. If one of these is sent home, please sign and return it the NEXT day. Each child is responsible for keeping track of his/her card changes by putting a sticker on his/her chart indicating a green card for the day, or by writing the color of the card he/she ended the day on. At the end of four weeks, when the charts are full, we will have a "Good Behavior Celebration", such as a pizza party, or a movie in class. Any student with 5 or more card changes (pink and purple count as 2) or a detention will not be permitted to join the celebration. The chart is sent home before the celebration day and should be signed by a parent/guardian. This is a great way for parents to stay informed about behavior at school. I prefer to keep discipline as positive as possible. When students are working hard, working cooperatively, doing their best, showing improvement, etc., I will give them a ticket to put in the raffle jar. Each Friday a drawing is held and winners can choose a prize. Also, if the class performs well as a team they can receive a token. After 25 tokens the class will participate in a fun activity decided on as a group.
