Staff Bio's
Mr. Scott Counts is in his first year as principal here at Morrow Elementary. This year represents his 25th year in public education. Upon graduation from college he worked for Wright State University in the Financial Services Department for two years. He began his educational career in the Kettering City Schools. While in Kettering he taught high school Social Studies for two years, junior high Social Studies and Language Arts for two years, 3rd grade for one year, and 2nd grade for 12 years. During the 2003-2004 school year he served as Assistant Principal at Kramer Elementary in the Talawanda Schools in Oxford, Ohio. Mr. Counts holds a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education (grades 7-12) and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education (grades 1-8). Additionally, he has completed educational coursework in School Administration and holds both elementary and secondary principal's licenses (PreK-12), and Superintendent's licensure.
My name is Stacey Allen and I am the art teacher here at Morrow Elementary. I graduated with a BS in Art Education from Miami University in 1998. I began my teaching career here at Morrow Elementary in 1999. I LOVE ART! Art teaches students culture, history, math, science, problem solving skills, and self-expression. I am honored to teach Morrow's students all of arts values. I spend most of my free time with my husband, Ray, and our two beautiful children, Hayden, and Leah. We live in Maineville with our two Boston Terriers, Satchmo, and Frankie.
Outside of school and family my interests are creating and traveling. I have traveled to 12 foreign countries. I really enjoy bringing stories of my adventures back into the classroom, and sharing the art and culture of these countries with students through our projects.
Miss Carpenter has been a teacher for the Little Miami School District for three years. She has taught Kindergarten for one year and first grade for two years. She enjoys teaching and learning with the students. She is a graduate of Wilmington College and is currently working on her Master's in reading at Wilmington College as well.
My name is Debbie Combs. I am married with twin girls who are going into the second grade. I graduated from Wilmington College. I am in my fourth year of teaching. My first two years of teaching were at Sabina Elementary teaching first graders. After having my twins, I decided to become a stay home mom. When my twins started school, I began subbing at Morrow Elementary and eventually got a job teaching here. I also went to this school when I was a child. My hobbies are going fishing and boating with my family.
My name is Allyson Cooper. I am 26 years old and in my third year of teaching kindergarten at Morrow Elementary. I graduated from Wilmington College in 2006 with a K-3 certification and a reading endorsement K-12. I am currently working on my master's degree in differentiated instruction and plan to graduate in 2010. I recently bought my first home in Maineville. I look forward to living and working in the community for years to come.
My name is Andy Douglass and this is my third year at Morrow Elementary and I just want to take a second and tell you all a little about myself. I grew up in Camden, OH and I now live on the west side of Cincinnati, in Delhi. I have a lovely wife, Rita, and two wonderful step-daughters (Natalie-15 and Allison-14).
I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Malone College in Canton, OH and a Masters of Education from Wright State University. This is my eighth year of teaching and I enjoy it everyday. In my spare time I spend time with my family going to movies and other family activities. I also officiate high school football and basketball games and umpire high school softball games all over Southwest Ohio. For the past four summers, I have worked at Great American Ballpark as an usher and tour guide. Whenever I can, I try to go golfing---sometimes playing 72 holes in one day!! As your children will tell you, I am a HUGE Ohio State Buckeyes fan and I enjoy following their football and basketball teams. I look forward to working with you and your children and we will have a great year.
My name is Karen Dumais and I teach second grade at Morrow Elementary School. This is my 14th year with the Little Miami School District. I previously taught for 5 years in New Hampshire. I have a BSEd in Elementary and Special Education, as well as a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I live in Morrow with my husband and four children.
Mr. Steve Goodstein is in his 8th year of teaching fourth grade. He graduated from Arizona State University and has a Master Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Cincinnati. He is married and his wife is a second grade teacher for Princeton City Schools. They live in West Chester with their two children and their dog, Ally.
My name is Robin Griggs, I
am the attendance secretary at Morrow Elementary. I am in my second
year with Little Miami School District. My two children are in the 4th
and 6th grades. We have been residents of the district for 13 years.
As a parent, I could not be happier with the educational opportunities
that Little Miami has to offer. As an employee I look forward to
coming to work each day. During my day I have the pleasure of
assisting our wonderful student's and families. If I can be of

My name is Heather Hebrank, and I am twenty-four years old. I am beginning my second year of teaching here at Morrow Elementary. Teaching has always been my passion and there isn't a day I can remember that I haven't wanted to be a teacher. I graduated High School in 2002 from Talawanda High School and went on to Mount Vernon Nazarene University to major in Early Childhood Education (PreK-3), where I played softball for four years. I am currently in my masters program at the University of Dayton for Educational Leadership to one day hopefully play the role of principal or director of curriculum. I have been married for two years. My husband's name is Jonathan and he is a branch manager at River Valley Credit Union. We currently reside in Xenia with our dog Brutus.
My name is Brooke Houillion and I am currently in my 7th year of teaching at Morrow Elementary. I graduated with my bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati. I am also completing my Master's program with Miami University this summer. I absolutely love teaching and it has been my passion since childhood to teach. I have been married for nearly 8 years to my wonderful husband Brad. We live in Morrow with our 3 beautiful daughters Emma, Isabella and Addison. We have 2 cats Biscuits and Gravy and 2 dogs a boxer named Sasha and our bulldog named Junior.
Mrs. Iannelli is in her 3rd year of teaching music at Morrow Elementary School. Previously, she taught choir and band at Lebanon Christian, St. Francis DeSales, Blanchester, and Ansonia Local Schools. She graduated in 1992 from Miami University with a degree in Music Education K-12. While in college, Mrs. Iannelli traveled around the country performing on her saxophone. This summer, she will begin her Special Education masters degree. When Mrs. Iannelli is not teaching, she enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling and spending time with her husband, their 2 children, and their big yellow dog!
Mrs. Karen Jordan is enjoying her 17th year of educating children. She has been part of the Morrow Elementary family for ten years. Prior to working for Little Miami Schools, Mrs. Jordan taught in the Clermont Northeastern School District. Mrs. Jordan received her Bachelor's degree from Miami University and her Master's degree from Wright State University. She feels fortunate to work for such an outstanding school system and community.
My name is Pam Jordan and I teach 2nd grade at Morrow. I began teaching 18 years ago in the Lakota School district. I stayed home for five years with my 3 children and returned to work teaching Kindergarten at Morrow 9 years ago. This is my sixth year in second grade. I have a BS in Education from Miami University and will begin my Masters this summer. I live in Morrow with my husband and children. They attend Little Miami Schools and are currently in 7th, 8th and 9th grades.
Mrs. Annette Kosmac is in her second year as the School Psychologist at Morrow Elementary. She also serves as the Preschool School Psychologist for the district. Mrs. Kosmac holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton, and a Master's Degree in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently completing her Doctoral Degree in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. Mrs. Kosmac enjoys having the opportunity to work with students, faculty, and families to support the needs of all students.
Mrs. Pam Morris is currently in her 35th year of teaching. She taught 5th grade at Maineville Elementary for 13 years. While at Maineville, she received her Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist from Xavier University. For the past 22 years, she had taught Title I Reading at Morrow Elementary. She enjoys working with small groups of children in the regular classroom.
Before teaching, Jane Payne was a stage technician, working on Broadway productions, including a tour with the play, "Annie." Jane currently teaches elementary age gifted students in the Little Miami School District. She has also been a special education and regular classroom teacher. Jane appreciates being part of a progressive and excellent school district. Jane has always been an avid reader and dabbles in writing and art. She is married with two sons who are currently in college: one at Ohio State University and one at the University of South Carolina.
Mrs. Stephanie Pennix is currently teaching kindergarten for the first year at Morrow Elementary. She is in her second year of teaching in the Little Miami School District. Mrs. Pennix enjoyed the community so much as a child that she returned to teach in the district after graduating from Little Miami High School. She has a Bachelor of the Arts Degree from Transylvania University and will begin her Masters program this coming fall
My name is Crystal Thornton. Being a former alumnus from Little Miami, it has been a joy coming back home to serve the Little Miami community after working more than 15 years at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This is my 9th year as a district nurse. Graduating with a Bachelor's in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, I then completed my school nurse licensure certification from Wright State University. I hope to complete my Master's in Child and Adolescent Health (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) by June 2009 from Wright State University. For funΣnot been much time for this lately, but my family and I love to do anything outdoors. From hiking, camping, gardening, to just taking a lazy canoe stroll down the Little Miami River, is a perfect day for my family. Mrs. Thornton leads the following programs at Morrow Elementary: Walk with the Nurse, Circuit with the Nurse, Open Airways for Students with Asthma, Real Eyes, Mobile Dentists, and the fourth grade puberty presentations.
Mrs. Erica Williams is beginning her third year of teaching at Morrow Elementary. She has been teaching third grade for 3 years. She is currently working on her Master's degree at Miami University. She will complete her master degree this summer.
