If a child becomes ill at school, school personnel will notify the parent or guardian. Generally, parents will be called by the office if the child's temperature registers 100 or above, if the child has vomited or has recently missed school due to illness or headaches. Any child with a temperature of 101 or more will be sent home unless advised otherwise by a physician. Parents will be called whenever there is a head injury. Parents need to keep the teacher informed of any health concerns. We will release sick children only to the child's custodial parent or a person identified by the custodial parent. This person's name must appear on the child's office information card or on the emergency medical information paper. The office may ask for picture identification before releasing a child.
