The two-story High School addition project will increase the facility’s capacity from 800 students to 1,500 with the addition of 54,000 square feet for classrooms and 9,700 square feet for a multipurpose area. The completed high school is scheduled to open for the 2008-09 school year.

Highlights of the project include:

• 38 new classrooms: 26 general use classrooms, 6 science rooms, 2 computer rooms, 2 art rooms, and 2 special education classrooms;

• New multipurpose area for: cafeteria dining expansion, testing, physical education, athletics, and after-school functions.

Architects Steed, Hammond, and Paul were selected for the project, because they were the architects for Phase I of the High School. SHP met weekly with community members and educators to create the High School addition to meet the district’s educational and enrollment needs for years to come.
